Contract Due Diligence

We completely understand that if you’re signing a large value contract you want to be assured that your contractor has the Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours (SKEB) required to deliver on time and on budget.

We believe that there are four key assessment criteria:

Stability:  is Plastratum a stable partner?

  • Founded in 2018
  • A track record of high value and complex project delivery
  • No external debt
  • A member of Safety Critical Plastic Solutions Group, consisting of five trading companies with consolidated net assets in excess of £4m

SHEQ:  does Plastratum demonstrate compliance with recognised SHEQ standards?

  • ISO9001: 2015 certified (Quality)
  • SSiP approved (H&S)
  • Comprehensive insurance (£10m employer and public liability; £5m professional indemnity)
  • Cyber Essentials

Specialism:  is Plastratum a plastics engineering specialist?

  • Highly trained and experienced workforce, with qualifications in hand welding, extrusion welding, sheet fusion, pipe fusion as well as extensive safety and site qualifications
  • Turnkey capability, from consultancy and design through manufacture and installation to commissioning
  • Extensive list of reference sites, including many projects in excess of £1m:  see our case studies page for more details
  • Many years of project experience including:  ductwork, pipework (including dual containment), chemical storage and process tanks, fume scrubbing and odour control, process lines and surface treatment / finishing, effluent treatment plant, corrosion-resistant pumps and fans
  • Externally recognised:  shortlisted in the Environmental category for the 2023 Surface Engineering Association awards

Standards:  does Plastratum follow the right standards for your project?

  • BS4994:  Plastratum can provide detailed calculations to support our manufacture of glass reinforced thermoplastic tanks
  • DVS 2205-2:  this standard drives the calculation of cylindrical thermoplastic tanks, taking account of media, snow wind and earthquake loads, positioning of nozzles and flat, sloped or conical bottoms
  • DVS 2205-5:  this standard drives the calculation of rectangular thermoplastic tanks, similar to the above and with the ability to optimise all round reinforcement
  • TR40 Local Exhaust Ventilation:  Members of our Senior Leadership Team co-authored this guide to good practice for LEV systems
  • DW154 Plastic Ductwork:  Our sister company’s founder chaired the technical committee that published DW154 in 2000.  Members of our Seenior Leadership Team are leading the review of DW154 ahead of its revision
  • HSG258: this guidance contains comprehensive information about the roles and legal responsibilities of employers and suppliers
